At Babington Holmes Ltd we are passionate about developing and managing educational properties that create a safe, secure, positive and interactive learning environment for pupils, teachers and staff.
If you are a single academy, part of a small Multi Academy Trust (MAT) or sixth-form college, and your properties are in need of repair, renovation or expansion, then you are eligible to bid for funding via the Condition Improvement Fund (CIF) from the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA).
The CIF is an annual bidding round for eligible academies and sixth-form colleges to apply for capital funding. The priority for the fund is to address significant condition needs, keeping academy and sixth-form college buildings safe and in good working order. Most CIF funding aims to address issues with significant consequences that Revenue or Devolved Formula Capital (DFC) funding cannot meet. This includes funding projects to address health and safety issues, building compliance, poor building condition and energy efficiency.
CIF can also support a small proportion of expansion projects. These are for academies and sixth-form colleges rated Good or Outstanding by Ofsted that can demonstrate a need to expand.
Our process is based on an improvement cycle:
If you are single academy, part of a small MAT or a sixth form college and would like support in preparing CIF bids and applications; or advice on any property related matter, our Chartered Surveyors can help lead you through the process in a professional, transparent and clear manner.
Beyond funding we are also able to offer the following services that are vital in maintaining day to day operational continuity:
- Retained Property Services – a first point of contact in times of property malfunction. We have preferred and trusted multi skilled contractors on hand that can attend site to complete reactive repairs, virtually any time of the day. This service is invaluable and provides peace of mind knowing that you have professionals only a phone call away.
- Service Contract Support – maintaining legal and regulatory compliance of building elements such as boiler servicing, lighting tests, electrical safety, lift servicing, catering equipment servicing, fire safety and water hygiene to name a few.
